Day 1 Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Cape Town.
Day 2 Transfer to the 3-star Inn on the Square Hotel for three nights.
Day 3 Visit Table Mountain, weather permitting (excludes cableway ticket), Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Bo-Kaap, Castle of Good Hope and walk through Company Gardens to the South Africa Museum. End with tea at the Mount Nelson Hotel.
Day 4 A tour of the Cape Peninsula includes Hout Bay, Cape Point, the Good Hope Nature Reserve and Boulders Beach. Return via Simon’s Town for a walking tour, harbour cruise (weather permitting) and the SA Navy Museum.
Day 5 Embark on the RMS St. Helena for five nights.
Days 6–9 At sea.
Day 10 Arrive at St. Helena for eight nights at Farm Lodge or Consulate Hotel†.
Day 11 A walking tour of lower Jamestown includes a visit to the castle, St. James Church and Jacob’s Ladder, ending with tea at one of the historic hotels.
Day 12 Explore the diverse landscape of the island, Boer Cemetery and St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Day 13 A Napoleonic tour visits the French properties of Briars Pavilion and Longwood House, Napoleon’s Tomb, St. Matthew’s Church and the ruins of Halley’s observatory.
Day 14 Visit the Plantation House, home to the present governor, High Knoll Fort and Prince’s Lodge to view the Castell collection of old island prints. Enjoy tea in an island home.
Day 15 View the island’s endemic plants and Wirebird, the only surviving endemic bird and threatened with extinction. There will be an option to plant a tree, part of the Millennium project by the National Trust.
Day 16 Enjoy a boat trip along the coast to view the East India Company’s fortifications, offshore islands, birds, dolphins and volcanic cliffs.
Day 17 Day at leisure. Farewell dinner at an island home with local cuisine.
Day 18 Embark for the return journey to Cape Town.
Days 19–22 At sea.
Day 23 Disembark and transfer to the 3-star Inn on the Square Hotel for overnight.
Day 24 Return overnight flight to London.
Day 25 Arrive Heathrow.
