The word ‘Riad’ originally denoted, in classical Arabic, a
garden and came to be used to describe an urban home
with an Andalusian or Moorish patio garden. Today’s
definition is accommodation of traditional character from
the conversion of town houses, where rooms look inwards to
the interior patio. Whilst most riads are individually owned
and operated, sometimes resulting in varying standards,
Riad Blanc belongs to the portfolio of the Angsana Riads
Collection, itself part of the prestigious Banyan Tree group,
well known in the Far East for its luxury hotels and spas.
Riad Blanc has become a favourite for Voyages Jules Verne

to Dar Si Said Museum and 10 minutes’ walk from Djemma
el-Fna Square. Built in the 18th century, it features sitting
