From Fez & Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains, the fringes of the Sahara and Moroccan Coast

Day 1 Fly from London Stansted to Fez. Transfer to the Moroccan 5-star Jnan Palace (Aug 26 departure will be at the Moroccan 4-star Hotel Ramada Fez) for three nights.
Day 2 Visit the Roman city of Volubilis and the hill town of Moulay Idriss. Continue to Meknes for a tour of its ramparts, Imperial granaries and stables.
Day 3 Drive around the city ramparts and visit the Dar el-Batha museum of local crafts. Explore the fascinating labyrinthine medina and souks including a visit to the Attarine Medersa and a traditional carpet-maker.
Day 4 Traverse the Atlas Mountains to Er-Rachidia. Overnight in Erfoud at the Moroccan 4-star Hotel Palm.
Day 5 Early morning optional excursion to the Merzouga Dunes on the fringes of the Sahara (bookable locally). Travel to Tinerhir to visit the dramatic Todra Gorges. Continue along the spectacular ‘Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs’ to the former French Foreign Legion outpost of Ouarzazate. Overnight at the Moroccan 4-star Hotel Mercure.
Day 6 Visit the much photographed kasbahs of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Tifoultoute and Taourirt. Continue to Marrakech for three nights at the Moroccan 4-star Hotel Golden Tulip.
Day 7 Full-day tour of Marrakech includes the Koutoubia Minaret, Majorelle Gardens, Bahia Palace, and Dar Si Said Palace museum of jewellery, costume, chests and doors.
Day 8 Afternoon exploration of the fascinating and colourful souks of the old medina, visiting the Medersa Ben Youssef, a 14th-century religious teaching establishment. Enjoy a drink overlooking Djemma el-Fna Square.
Day 9 Travel to the attractive walled town of Taroudant for overnight at the Moroccan 4-star Hotel Palais Salam. Visit this city of red ramparts surrounded by gardens.
Day 10 Transfer to Agadir airport for the return flight to London Stansted.
Extension - Moroccan Coast
The southern Berber port of Agadir, which once controlled Marrakech’s goods from the sea, is now a coastal resort suitable for a few days relaxation after a busy tour. Stay four nights at the 5-star Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay Resort with private beach, pool, spa, restaurants, bars and 273 air-conditioned rooms with private facilities, mini-bar, hairdryer and satellite TV, for relaxation or independent exploration. Includes breakfast and transfers.
