Angsana Riad Collection

A stay in a beautifully restored riad in the heart of old Marrakech

3 nights from £425, 4 nights from £475 or 7 nights from £575

Whilst most riads are individually owned varying standards, the two riads featured here belong to the newly launched portfolio of the Angsana Riads Collection, itself part of the prestigious Banyan Tree group well known in the Far East for its luxury hotels and Spas and recently recognised in the Conde Nast Traveller Hot List 2008. Both are well-located in the medina close to Dar Si Said Museum and 10 minutes walk from Djemma el-Fna Square. Both are of an excellent quality, with Riad Bab Firdaus offering a slightly higher standard of room and facilities.

The word ‘Riad’ originally denoted, in classical Arabic, a garden and came to be used to describe an urban
home with an Andalusian or Moorish patio garden. Today’s definition is accommodation of traditional character from the conversion of these town houses, where rooms normally look
inwards to the interior patio. Riads are ideally suited to the guests who want a quietly unique, central base with
Moroccan character, from which to explore Marrakech.
